For most of the year, Aurora residents keep two separate mental calendars. One tracks the west side of the city out by Stapleton, where Stanley Marketplace posts its live-music nights and workshop lineups. The other tracks the Havana Street corridor, where the Business Improvement District programs concerts, night markets, and cultural festivals from the Stampede south to Yale. The two calendars rarely overlap, and locals tend to pick a side of town for the evening rather than string things together.
The last ten days of August 2026 break that pattern. Stanley Marketplace is marking its 10-year anniversary the same week the Havana corridor stacks its biggest late-summer nights, and the two schedules read like they were built to be run in sequence.
Ten years since a factory became a marketplace
The Stanley10 celebration isn't a marketing beat. It's a real milestone for a building that, a decade ago, was still an empty airplane hangar. Stanley Marketplace is a one-of-a-kind mixed-use venue housed in a restored 1950s airplane factory in Aurora, Colorado, where the developers kept the 160,000-plus sq. ft. industrial shell and built inside it a marketplace with over 50 local businesses including restaurants, coffeeshops, breweries, boutiques, fitness and wellness studios, offices, a daycare and a dental office. The anchor is the Stanley Beer Hall, a large brewpub with 51 self-pour taps, and around it are the tenants that have become fixtures for anyone living in Northwest Aurora: Annette, Boychik, Cheluna Brewing, Create Kitchen, Molino Chido, Denver Biscuit Company, Rolling Smoke BBQ, Traveling Mercies, Mr. B's, and Tattered Cover.
The three nights of Stanley10
The anniversary programming lands over one weekend, and each night has a different center of gravity.
- Friday, August 21, 4 to 8 PM. Stanley10 Live Music in the Field kicks off the celebration with an evening of live music on the new field at 2501 Dallas Street, with dinner and drinks from Stanley Marketplace businesses, a performance by Man Cubs at 4 PM, and Ninety2K at 6 PM. Free, all ages, lawn chairs encouraged.
- Saturday, August 22. Taste of Stanley invites guests to taste, sip, shop, and discover the best of Stanley Marketplace. The same day, a Bookmark Workshop with charms and embroidery runs at Friends of Friends.
- Sunday, August 23. A Stanley10 Sunday Social pairs wellness, wheels, and community, followed by Bonez & Brekkie, a community pack walk for pups and their people hosted by Bones 4 Budz.
If you have kids, note the anniversary weekend also overlaps with the last stretch of a summer program worth arriving early for. Mesa Park Fruit Co. brings fresh-picked Palisade peaches every Thursday and Saturday throughout harvest season from July 2 to August 31. After the 31st, the peach window closes for another year.
The same week on Havana Street
While the west side is running its anniversary, the Havana corridor is running one of its densest weeks of the year.
- Tuesday, August 25, doors 6 PM, show 7 to 9 PM. A free Dotsero concert at The Stampede, with doors open at 6 p.m. Dotsero has been a Colorado jazz-fusion fixture for four decades, and the Stampede's outdoor stage is one of the easier free tickets on the corridor.
- Saturday, August 29, 6 to 10 PM. The 2026 Havana Street Night Market at Leezakaya, 2710 S Havana Street, is the August installment of the last-Saturday-of-the-month series. The Havana BITES spotlight program features smaller, snackable, walk-around portions created by select food vendors, and everything at the Havana Bites tents is $12 or less, which turns the market into a legitimate progressive dinner.
- Saturday, August 29, from 11 AM. Aurora Pride at Winged Melody Park.
A practical note for first-timers at the Night Market: take a lap first rather than stopping at the very first food truck, look for the Havana Bites signs if you want to try a bunch of things on a budget, and go after sunset when lines get shorter and the live music and DJ vibes create a better atmosphere.
The new tables worth building a night around
Because these events cluster, they double as an excuse to finally try the openings and refreshes that have been piling up along Havana all year.
The most-talked-about change is at Carniceria Aurora. Its new location is nearly triple the size of its previous home, and the move added an in-store restaurant to the butcher counter, which means the marinated meats people used to take home can now be eaten on site.
A few blocks north, the corridor picked up a Turkish bakery this year: Sultan Bakery at the Birchtree Shopping Center at Havana and Jewel. A little further along, Orejano is the new Latin spot where the empanadas are baked fresh with every order, and Golf Ethiopian Restaurant is modernizing while staying traditional as it debuts updates for its 15th anniversary. If you have never made a serious pass at Pupusas La Salvadoreña, its over a dozen fillings and all-day breakfast menu make it one of the easier detours between the Night Market and the concert at the Stampede.
Over at Stanley, the tenant mix is worth reading through before you go, because the happy-hour windows are staggered in a way that rewards planning. Stanley Beer Hall runs 20% off select tap options 2 to 5 PM, Traveling Mercies happy hour is 4 to 5 PM, Annette is 4:30 to 5:30 PM, Boychik is 3 to 5 PM, Create Kitchen is 3 to 6 PM, and Molino Chido's Chido hour is 3 to 5 PM. If you arrive at 3, you can fit three different rooms before dinner starts.
A two-weekend route, not a picking problem

The Havana Bites math, briefly
The reason the Night Market has become a destination for people who already live on the east side is that the pricing structure is unusual for a food event of its size. When the ceiling for a full plate is $12, and the vendors are running Korean BBQ, Mexican street tacos, African delicacies, and everything in between, a group of four can build a fifteen-dish dinner across the lot for under $200 without anyone eating the same thing twice. Compare that to a single tasting menu across town, and the value proposition of the corridor becomes clear.
What this weekend tells you about Aurora right now
If you have lived here more than a few years, you already know that Aurora's food and event scene rarely gets covered on its own terms. It usually shows up in Denver roundups as an afterthought or a "worth the drive" line at the bottom. What the August calendar quietly demonstrates is that the city now programs enough on its own, from a 10-year-old marketplace on one side to a four-mile international corridor on the other, that residents can spend a full ten days without leaving the city limits and still feel like they went somewhere. That is a different Aurora than the one people were describing a decade ago, and it's the version worth actually planning around.
